Day Two of Jr Bruins Shootout Brings a Split for Rochester

Rochester StarsRochester opened up its Saturday morning game verse the Boston Bandits. Rochester opened the scoring early in the game with a goal by Dylan Shapiro shortly after the opening face off. This would prove to be the only goal of the 1st period as both teams exchanged scoring opportunities.

Rochester jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Tyler Wolf scored his 1st goal of the EJHL season. Rochester found itself in penalty trouble as Boston scored its 1st goal on a 5 on 3 man advantage. Shortly after that, Boston scored again on a PP to tie the game at 2. Rochester immediately battled back with a goal from Mychal Chvostek.

Boston tied the score with under 2 minutes in the game and Rochester found itself in the 2nd OT/shootout in 2 games. Josh Opladen gave up 1 goal in 5 attempts and had a total of 29 saves. Dylan Shapiro and Tyler Wolf scored the shootout goals for the victory.

Game two was played at a furios pace verse the South Shore Kings. Rochester once again scored on the first shift with a goal by Tyler Sheppard. Dylan Shapiro made it a 2-0 lead on a 3 on 1 break in the 1st half. After surrendering 4 consecutive goals, the Rochester Stars made it close on a late goal by Bobby Sokol. Gordan Ceasar made 38 saves in the loss.
